Program Outline

in Engineering Technology. The program is designed for currently enrolled UNT undergraduate students majoring in mechanical engineering technology (MEET). Students can take up to 9 credit hours of graduate courses while completing their BS degree, which can then be applied towards the MS in Engineering Technology. The program focuses on the applications of science and engineering to analyze, design, develop, implement, and oversee advanced mechanical systems and processes. It emphasizes a strong foundation in science, mathematics, and technical coursework, preparing students to work in a team-oriented, concurrent engineering environment. The program aims to equip students with the skills necessary to be successful in both design and manufacturing, positioning them as leaders in the industry. The Mechanical Engineering Technology emphasis focuses on the design and analysis of products, tools, machines, and components. The Master of Science in Engineering Technology program is one of about 25 in the U.S. and is STEM-designated. Students can choose from three concentrations: Construction Management, Engineering Management, or Mechanical Systems.
