Program Description

The Probationary Principal Certification/Intern Certificate is a supplemental certificate program designed to support students who have been offered a position with a school district that requires principal certification. To be eligible, students must have completed at least 4 of the UNT Educational Leadership courses and passed the TExES 268 certification exam.


Requirements

  • Completed at least 4 UNT Educational Leadership courses
  • Passed the TExES 268 certification exam
  • Enrolled in the internship course or professional practice course at UNT during the probationary or internship certification period
  • School district must sign a form stating the candidate has been offered a position that requires principal certification

Program Details

The probationary certification is awarded to students who have not yet completed the principal certification program and have been offered a position with a school district that requires the probationary certificate. This certification is a stepping stone towards earning full principal certification.
