Photojournalism Degree Courses
- Sports Journalism (3 hrs): Teaches sports reporting, writing, photojournalism, and performance for multi-platform use, including web, broadcast, and print.
- Fundamentals of Photojournalism (3 hrs): Instruction in fundamental photojournalism skills and methods, including image production and digital post-production, candid documentary observation, visual sequencing, photography critique, visual news judgment, photojournalism writing, and ethical and legal limits concerning photographic coverage and publication.
- Visual News Storytelling (3 hrs): Focuses on shooting and editing for television with information about how to select audio for radio news, plus audio and video for the web.
- Digital Media for Journalists (3 hrs): Fast-paced course providing students with principles and practice in using digital tools to report, write, blog, and produce content in multiple platforms — print, online, social, broadcast, and mobile.
- Multimedia Storytelling for News (3 hrs): Course prepares students for high-level, long-form visual storytelling using still and video photography.
- Reporting of Public Affairs (3 hrs): Police, court, political, and governmental news with typical practical news assignments assigned to professional reporters; background and practice in writing enterprise and investigative stories, including long-form non-fiction narrative writing.
