The program offered at Oswego’s Syracuse Campus prepares students to play vital roles in driving positive transformations within the constantly evolving healthcare landscape. Our biomedical and health informatics (BHI) program provides three tracks, each specifically designed to focus on the needs of today’s healthcare settings.
Careers:
Graduates of the program will be able to demonstrate advanced proficiency in health information technology and health informatics with a focus on systems integration, safety and security, as well as intelligent health systems practices. The program provides three tracks: Health Information Management: Health Data Science, Health Informatics: Intelligent Health Systems, and Health Informatics: Professional. The program is STEM designated. The program is available 100% online. The program is offered in person at the Syracuse campus. The program is located close to home. The program offers students the advantage of a familiar setting while still benefiting from a thriving academic community and modern facilities. - Official transcript: Applicants must provide evidence of a biomedical professional degree or a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA of 3.0 for the last two years. Prior knowledge of statistics and computer applications is required. Students who do not meet the prerequisites may be considered for admission but may be required to take prerequisite courses.
- GRE scores (recommended): Graduate Record Examination (GRE) scores are optional but recommended.
- Statement of purpose: A statement of purpose of 500 words or less is required. This statement should describe your personal achievements related to your academic interests and detail your educational and professional objectives, explaining why you are applying to SUNY Oswego.
- Resume: A professional resume or curriculum vitae is required. This document should include your academic history, professional background, and any accomplishments of note.
- Two letters of recommendation: Two letters of recommendation are required. These references should be able to speak to your character, work ethic, and abilities.
- Application fee: A non-refundable application fee of $65 is required.
