Overview
The Computed Tomography (CT) program is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become competent CT technologists. CT technologists use x-ray technology to take cross-sectional images of the body and are responsible for operating the CT unit, evaluating patient medical history, positioning patients, and performing 3D post-processing images.
Program Details
- The program is offered by the College of Health Professions, Department of Medical Imaging & Radiation Sciences.
- The program is available online and on-site for advanced placement students, second-year dual-concentration students, and part-time CT BS students.
- Clinical training is scheduled on an individual basis.
Mission Statement
The mission of the Department of Medical Imaging & Radiation Sciences and the CT program is to provide a comprehensive education preparing students for entry-level practice in medical imaging and radiation sciences as competent, caring members of the healthcare team, cultivating professionalism and life-long learning.
Computed Tomography Concentration
- Dual-concentration students cannot take Computed Tomography in their first year unless they are already registered.
- Students must consult an admissions counselor or a Medical Imaging and Radiation Sciences faculty member when choosing concentrations.
