It provides a comprehensive grounding in biology and specialized training in biochemical techniques, gene expression regulation, biotechnology, and microbiology. Program Outline
Build a strong foundation in all aspects of biology before specializing in biochemical techniques, regulation of gene expression, biotechnology, and microbiology. The program involves extensive laboratory experiences.

Entry Requirements:
- Open admission: This means that anyone can apply to the program.
- Apply to Bachelor of Science: Applicants must have completed English Studies 12/English First Peoples 12 with a minimum of 73% (or equivalent).
- Specific first year course requirements: The program has specific first year course requirements. Students are strongly recommended to familiarize themselves with these prerequisites before applying.
- General prerequisite requirements for first year courses in the BSc programs:
- Biology (all majors): Life Sciences 11 or Anatomy & Physiology 12 with C+ (or equivalent) or better
- Chemistry (Chemical Biology, Environmental Chemistry): Chemistry 11 (or equivalent)
- Pre-calculus 12: With a minimum C+ (or equivalent) within the past 2 years
- Physics 11: (or equivalent), (or PHYS 1130)
- Mature students without a high school diploma: Can work towards completing their BC High School Graduation Diploma while in the program through TRU courses.
