About the Program
The Environmental Engineering certificate program helps students learn about the design of systems that improve air quality, recycling practices, and more. The program requires 15 credit hours, starting with Introduction to Environmental Engineering, followed by courses in environmental law, water treatment engineering, sediment sources and controls, stormwater pollution management, and more.

The program is delivered mostly through on-campus, in-person meetings.

Program Details
- The certificate can be used to boost a résumé or as the first step toward a master's degree.
- Students must be admitted as an undergraduate or graduate student, or a non-degree seeking student, to enter the program.
- Up to 12 credit hours from the certificate program can be applied toward an MS in Civil Engineering at UAB.
