Program Overview

The PhD in Epidemiology at UAB provides highly competitive training for careers in research or teaching. Students gain a thorough understanding of study designs, statistical analyses, and disease investigation methods. The program offers concentrations in infectious disease, chronic disease, epidemiologic methods, pharmacoepidemiology, and genetic epidemiology, and includes 60 hours of coursework, directed research, and dissertation research.
