Course Overview
Click Start by Bath Spa in Creative Digital Skills is a creative digital programme designed to help you pursue a new career. You'll develop next level skills in digital marketing, UI/UX design and web development to build a portfolio that'll showcase your new abilities.
Over the eight weeks you'll work on live briefs, in groups and individually, to strengthen your problem solving skills, creativity, adaptability and resilience. These are all valuable skills that employers look for.
You'll be supported through the course and for six months after by a personal employability coach from Catch22.
You'll be given a one year membership to the British Computer Society, free of charge, as part of this course. This membership includes access to an industry mentor who will advise you on progressing into a career in tech and creative industries.
What You'll Learn
- Web development: HTML and Further HTML, introduction to CSS and Bootstrap
- UX/UI: basics of UX/UI, ideation, fundamentals of colour, typography and hierarchy, wireframing and prototyping
- Digital marketing: introduction to digital marketing, Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) and techniques to utilise it, social media marketing, including content and email marketing
How Will I Be Taught?
You’ll be taught through a combination of face-to-face and online teaching across the eight weeks. Teaching takes place Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, 10am-1.30pm.

Eligibility Requirements
To be eligible for the programme, you may:
- Be aged 18-30
- Live within an hour's travel of the West of England
- Have the right to work in the UK
You must be willing to travel for in person teaching.

How Do I Apply?
- Complete the application form.
- Once you've submitted your form, you'll be contacted by a member of staff to complete the next stage of your application. This will be done via a short phone call.

- How much of my course takes place in person and when? 70% of your teaching will be in person. This will take place over the eight weeks.
- Will I receive a certificate or qualification at the end of my course? At the end of your short course you'll receive a certificate of completion.
- What will I learn during the programme? You'll learn skills in web development, UI/UX design and digital marketing.
- What happens after my course? You'll be provided with six months of employability support from Catch22, including being signposted to opportunities for employment, self-employment, volunteering and further education.
