Program Overview


The Academic Communication Skills Program (ACSP) is designed for non-native English speakers to enhance their proficiency and meet entry requirements for UniSQ degrees requiring IELTS 6.5 or Pearson PTE A 59+. The 10-week program covers academic speaking, listening, reading, and writing, with regular assessments and workshops. Upon successful completion of ACS2, students may progress to their chosen degree at UniSQ, subject to other entry requirements.

Degree Overview:

The Academic Communication Skills Program (ACSP) is designed for non-native English speakers who wish to improve their English language proficiency to meet the entry requirements for UniSQ degrees that require an IELTS score of 6.5 or Pearson PTE A 59 and above. The program aims to enhance students' communication skills in English, enabling them to effectively participate in university studies in both face-to-face and digital environments.


Outline:

The ACSP consists of three levels, each with a duration of 10 weeks. Students progress through the levels based on their performance in exams and assignments. The program covers the following core areas:

  • In addition to the core courses, students participate in weekly academic workshops to improve their skills in specific areas.

  • Students who successfully complete the second level of the ACSP (ACS2) can progress to their preferred degree at UniSQ if they meet all other entry requirements.
  • The Pearson academic English test is the final assessment in ACS2.
  • Students must receive an overall score of 65 to pass this course.
  • Students who plan to apply for the Bachelor of Nursing require a score of 65 in all skills (reading, writing, listening, and speaking).

If you do not meet the citizenship or residency requirements, you will be required to pay a tuition fee. The cost for a 10-week program is AUD 4080.1 Students may be required to purchase textbooks and study materials.
