Overview

This MArch Architecture course prepares students for contemporary architectural practice, combining academic and professional teaching. It is taught in the state-of-the-art Stockwell Street Building, designed by renowned architects Heneghan Peng.

• Design Realisation (40 credits)
• Theories of Architecture (20 credits)
• Building Design (40 credits)
• Future Representations (20 credits)
• Advanced Architectural Design 01 (Project Themes) (40 credits)
• Advanced Architectural Design 02 (Major Project) (40 credits)
• Architectural Thesis (40 credits)

Entry Requirements

• An undergraduate (honours) degree at 2:2, or above in Architecture
• ARB/RIBA Part 1 examination or equivalent
• A good portfolio including academic and professional practice work
• Suitable applicants will be required to submit a portfolio and attend an interview

Fees and Funding

• Home: £9,535
• International: £17,500
• Part-time: £2,384 per 30 credits (Home), £4,375 per 30 credits (International)

Careers and Placements

• The programme prepares students for future careers as national and international architects
• The School of Design has an Employability Officer who provides specific opportunities relevant to the course
• The central Employability and Careers Service also provides support for students preparing to apply for placements and graduate roles

Accommodation

• Living in halls of residence is a great way to make new friends and get into the social side of university life
• Rooms start at £146.30/wk and include Wi-Fi, utility bills, access to the on-campus gym, and 24-hour security

Support and Advice

• Academic skills and study support are available through tutors, subject librarians, and the online academic skills centre
• MArch Architecture students get free access to Adobe Creative Cloud software
• Each year, the university runs an end-of-year exhibition where students showcase their work
