We provide you with essential knowledge and skills in this important area of education, such as the professional, statutory, and regulatory requirements within the PE sector. Your training takes place in two different secondary schools and in university environments. By the end of your studies, you will be a confident, competent, and effective teacher of physical education with the ability to reflect on both theory and practice.

Careers and Placements
You will spend a minimum of 24 weeks in two secondary schools, with intensive training placements for an additional four weeks where you will focus on core elements of practice. This will be an integral part of your study and provides the context in which you can develop your professional skills, knowledge and understanding.
Support and Advice
We want your time at university to be enjoyable, rewarding, and free of unnecessary stress, so planning your finances before you come to university can help to reduce financial concerns. We can offer advice on living costs and budgeting, as well as on awards, allowances and loans.
Accommodation
Our Avery Hill halls of residence are a home away from home to over 1,200 students. For those studying in Greenwich, our free shuttle bus service takes you to Greenwich campus in only 25 minutes. Excellent transport links also mean you can be in central London in under 30 minutes, and you're a short walk away from the historic Eltham Palace.
How You Will Learn
In addition to university-based workshops, our course includes two school placements plus support in the form of online materials. In a typical week, learning takes place through a combination of lectures and seminars. You will be able to discuss and develop your understanding of topics covered in lectures in smaller group sessions. Timetabled learning may fall between 9am and 9pm depending on your courses and tutorials and 8am-4.30pm when on placement within a school.
