Program Overview

The University of Strathclyde offers a range of postgraduate research programs in the Department of Architecture, including PhD, MPhil, and MRes degrees. PhD Program

Entry Requirements

As part of the application process, students must submit a research proposal that outlines their research question, methodology, and expected outcomes. The proposal should be around 250-1000 words in length and should demonstrate the student's ability to conduct original research.

Supervisors

Research supervisors are assigned to students by the Department of Architecture. Students are encouraged to identify potential supervisors and to discuss their research proposal with them before submitting their application.

MPhil Program

Fees and Funding

The tuition fees for the PhD, MPhil, and MRes programs in Architecture are as follows:

• Scotland: £4,786 (2024/25), £5,006 (2025/26)
• England, Wales & Northern Ireland: £4,786 (2024/25), £5,006 (2025/26)
• Republic of Ireland: If you are an Irish citizen and have been ordinary resident in the Republic of Ireland for the three years prior to the relevant date, and will be coming to Scotland for Educational purposes only, you will meet the criteria of England, Wales & Northern Ireland fee status.
• International: £23,850 (2024/25), £26,250 (2025/26)
