- England, Wales & Northern Ireland: £4,786 (2024/25) and £5,006 (2025/26)
- Republic of Ireland: If you are an Irish citizen and have been ordinary resident in the Republic of Ireland for the three years prior to the relevant date, and will be coming to Scotland for Educational purposes only, you will meet the criteria of England, Wales & Northern Ireland fee status.
- International: £18,050 (2024/25) and £19,850 (2025/26)
Additional costs may include:
- Course materials: £150-£200 per year
- Placements & field trips: £50-£300 per year

Application and Entry Requirements
To apply for the MPhil or PhD program, students must:
- Normally have a Masters degree in education or a related subject from a recognized academic institution
- Have professional experience in a field with an educational dimension
- Provide transcripts and certificates of all degrees
- Provide proof of English language proficiency (IELTS 6.5 in writing and reading required) if applying as an international student
- Provide two references, one of which must be academic
- Provide funding or scholarship information
- Submit a research proposal of 1,500 to 2,000 words in length, detailing the subject area and topic to be investigated

The MPhil and PhD programs can be started at various times throughout the year, and the duration of the program is as follows:
- MPhil: one year full-time or two years part-time
- PhD: three or four years full-time or four to six years part-time
