Introduction to the University of Kent

Overview of the MSc in Economics and Data Science

The MSc in Economics and Data Science is a two-year full-time program that provides students with advanced training in economic theory, econometric methods, and data science. The program is designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to pursue careers in international organizations, the financial sector, and government.

Course Structure

The program is divided into two stages. Stage 1 is taught at the University of Kent's Canterbury campus and comprises modules to a total of 125 credits. Stage 2 is taught at Aix Marseille University in France and comprises modules and an industry placement to a total of 120 credits.

Entry Requirements

To be eligible for the program, applicants must have a first or second-class honors degree from the UK or an equivalent internationally recognized qualification in economics or a combined degree in economics and another subject. Applicants must also have a good level of quantitative skills.

English Language Requirements

The program requires a good level of English language, equivalent to B2 on CEFR. Examples of accepted English language qualifications include IELTS 6.0 with a minimum of 5.5 in each component and PTE Academic 63 with a minimum of 59 in each sub-test.

Fees and Funding

The tuition fee for the first year of the program is £10,000 for UK students and £20,700 for international students. For the second year, students will be charged the current fee charged by Aix Marseille University.
