Advanced and Specialist Healthcare (Dental Educational Practice) MSc
The Advanced and Specialist Healthcare (Dental Educational Practice) MSc is a part-time, work-related course designed specifically for registered dental professionals. The course provides the route for National Health Service (NHS) Health Education England (HEE) ‘Mentorship for Training Supervisors’ and other appropriately qualified students to achieve from a PG Certificate up to a full Master's qualification.
Overview
The course is a joint collaboration between the University of Kent and National Health Service (NHS) Health Education England (HEE). Students enter via an approved articulation arrangement route having gained 30 credits from the approved Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) from the successful completion of a NHS HEE Mentorship for Training Supervisors’ (or equivalent).
Entry Requirements
- Students enter via an approved articulation arrangement route having gained 30 credits Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) from the successful completion of a NHS England’s "Mentorship for Training Supervisors" programme (or equivalent).
- All applicants are considered on an individual basis and additional qualifications, professional qualifications and relevant experience may also be taken into account when considering applications.

Due to visa restrictions, students who require a student visa to study cannot study part-time unless undertaking a distance or blended-learning programme with no on-campus provision.
English Language Entry Requirements

Course Structure
The following modules are indicative of those offered on this course:
- Stage 1 (PG Certificate): WKBL9130 - Delivery of Education in Professional Practice (30 credits) Autumn-Spring terms
- Stage 2 (PG Diploma): An optional module (30 credits) - Autumn/Spring terms, WKBL8820 - Research Skills (30 credits) - Spring/Summer terms
- Stage 3 (MSc): WKBL8160 - Work-related Project and Dissertation (60 credits)
Teaching and Assessment
Prior to attending the taught session, students will be asked to undertake preparatory reading and tasks, carry out work-based investigations, and participant-led presentations. All assessment tasks are designed to allow students to develop expertise in the application of dental professional practice within the context of their work and subject interest.
