Overview

The Childhood Practice BA is a part-time online course offered by the School of Humanities, Social Sciences and Law at the University of Dundee. The course is designed for individuals who are currently working in a relevant 0-16 setting, such as early years, play work, childminding, or out-of-school clubs, and who already hold an SSSC recognised practitioners qualification.

Course Structure

The course focuses on applying theory to practice, and students will use workplace-based activities and reflect on their professional practice experience as the foundation for their academic study. Throughout the course, students will develop, challenge, and reflect upon their own values, beliefs, attitudes, knowledge, and skills.

Career Outcomes

On completion of the course, students will be eligible to register as a Lead Practitioner/Manager with the Scottish Social Services Council. The course aims to improve students' leadership skills and ensure better outcomes for children.
