Degree Overview:

This MEd course is designed for professionals working in educational settings, including teachers and those in similar developmental roles. It aims to enhance professional learning and improve career progression prospects. The program provides a framework for critical reflection on professional development and current practices, alongside an introduction to research methodology. Students can tailor their educational experience to suit their circumstances, with the option to study entirely online at their own pace and take breaks as needed. They can choose to study for the full Master of Education award or exit early with a PG Certificate or PG Diploma. The program primarily builds on initial training and work experience, with no requirement for current employment as long as relevant experience exists.

Careers:

Upon completion, the program can help individuals pursue careers in public, private, or international schools across the world. The course is accredited by the International Baccalaureate Organisation and the General Teaching Council Scotland (GTCS). On completion, participants can register for an IB Advanced Certificate in Teaching and Learning Research, Certificate in Leadership Practice, or Advanced Certificate in Leadership Research. They can also apply for a Certificate in Professional Learning directly from GTCS (provided they are GTCS registered).
