The Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry is a 1.5-year program that prepares students to undertake research, academic, and industrial development and production within the pharmaceutical industry, the biomedical sector, and other related fields.

Scholarships and Financial Aid
IQS offers scholarships and financial aid to students who wish to study a master’s degree at IQS and who have completed their undergraduate studies at another university. We also provide scholarships for academic excellence, financial need, and international students.

- Molecular design: computational chemistry and chemometric methods applied to drug design
- Quality management in chemistry laboratories: validation of analytical procedures and confirmation of metrology equipment
- New strategies in antimicrobial photodynamic therapy and singlet oxygen detection using fluorescent probes
- Design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of drugs and compounds
- Analysis of drugs and substances related to chromatographic and electrophoretic techniques (HRGC, HPLC, and HPCE)
- Experimental design and empirical optimization

- Advanced knowledge of the different disciplines of pharmaceutical chemistry
- Mastery of chemical and management tools for drug research, development, and production
- Knowledge of industrial sectors and new trends in the use of pharmaceutical chemistry
- Skills in knowledge management and the ability to lead projects in the pharmaceutical field
Curriculum
- Transversal Module: Pharmaceutical Chemistry and Project Management
- Drug Research Module: Molecular Design, Advanced Organic Synthesis, Identification and Structural Characterization, and Integrated Laboratory I
- Drug Production Module: Process Chemistry, Drug Analysis, Quality Management, and Integrated Laboratory II
- Electives Module: Three elective subjects from a catalogue specific to this Master’s Degree or other University Master’s Degrees
- Master Thesis Module: Individual research project within a research group under the supervision of a master’s degree professor

In-Company Internship
In-company internships are not mandatory as part of the Master’s Degree in Pharmaceutical Chemistry curriculum. However, if you want to expand your practical preparation during your studies at IQS, you can do internships with research centres or internships with companies in the sector between your second and third semesters.
