Program Overview
This is a level 7 (master's level) stand-alone module that will provide you with advanced decision-making skills, theoretical knowledge and advanced practical skills to work towards autonomous minor injury management. The content covered during the module includes assessment and management of injuries involving upper and lower limbs, wounds, eyes, and facial/head injuries in both adults and children. X-ray requesting and interpretation will be covered. The teaching will focus on the importance of history taking and assessment in relation to achieving appropriate diagnosis and safe, evidence-based management.

- You’ve been a registered nurse for two years and have been working for at least six months in a first contact, emergency or urgent care setting.
- You'll have a first class degree, or equivalent, and must be recommended for this course by your manager.
- Your clinical practice placement must be supported by an appropriately experienced/qualified advanced practitioner, agreed in advance by your manager and the course tutor.
