Program Overview

The Painting concentration in the Art (B.F.A.) Emphasizing conceptual thinking and material experimentation, the program enables students to develop their unique artistic voices and produce a distinctive body of work in their senior year. Students explore the boundaries of painting by working from observation, experimenting with materials, and challenging traditional notions of the medium. They engage in upper-level courses that encourage the development of conceptual thinking and material experimentation, culminating in a comprehensive portfolio of capstone projects.
