BSc (Hons) Real Estate Surveying
Overview
This course combines real estate surveying with valuation, planning, and development. It studies how commercial and residential property markets work and draws upon the economics of the real estate sector to gain knowledge of how they develop and the determinants of value. It also examines how urban planning regulates the development of property and value of real estate as investments.

Course details
In stages 1 and 2 of the course, you'll study the technical and legal aspects of real estate surveying, along with the valuation of property and cost of construction. In stages 3 and 4, you'll be provided with an in-depth knowledge of real estate appraisal: investment and development, as well as specialist and statutory valuation. You'll also examine how urban planning regulates the development of property and value of real estate. You will also gain 120 credits through work placement module over these stages.
In the final stage, you will focus on advanced valuation and planning & development, and how to work on a joint project with other disciplines. You shall also undertake a dissertation.

- Students will utilise their current employment related to their part-time surveying studies by undertaking the work placement module in Trimester 3 of years 4 and 5
