Program Overview


This Advanced Structural Analysis course provides an introduction to specialist topics including stiffness method and plastic, plate, and dynamic structural analysis. It equips students with the necessary tools for carrying out refined structural analysis and the skills to use structural analysis software for problem-solving. By the end of the course, students will be able to apply engineering concepts and mathematical knowledge to model structural systems and better understand the behavior and performance of more complex structural systems.

  • You should have a minimum of three years’ professional experience and have the support of your employer to integrate study and projects into your day-to-day work.
  • You will probably be employed on significant infrastructure or building works, with experience of developing and coordinating projects.
  • If you wish to receive credit, you should also have a 2:2 honours degree in a construction-related subject.
