Program Overview
This professional/short course in Lean Construction at Nottingham Trent University is designed to introduce students to Lean thinking and its application in the construction industry. The course covers topics such as the history of Lean thinking, the theory of production and Lean construction, the importance of value, the customer and a new mind set, Lean design and design management, and Lean commercial management and the Lean office. The course is taught through a flexible programme of lectures, workshops, seminar groups, and tutorials, with a blend of direct contact teaching and self-directed study.

Entry Requirements:
You should have a minimum of three years’ professional experience and have the support of your employer to integrate study and projects into your day-to-day work. You will probably be employed on significant infrastructure or building works, with experience of developing and coordinating projects. If you wish to receive credit, you should also have a 2:2 honours degree in a construction-related subject. Applicants with non-standard entry qualifications and/or relevant experience will be considered on an individual basis.
