Troy University's Surveying and Geomatics Sciences program is the only ABET-accredited program in Alabama and one of the few in the southeastern United States. It boasts a 100% job placement rate, with students often receiving multiple job offers before graduation. The program is designed to provide a strong foundation in surveying and geomatics, with a focus on practical applications and hands-on experience. Students can tailor their degree to meet their specific interests in geomatics.

The program curriculum includes a range of subdisciplines in geomatics, such as:
- Land Surveying: This subdiscipline focuses on the science of delineating land ownership and boundaries.
- Land Development: This subdiscipline involves assisting in the design and construction of roads, bridges, subdivisions, and planned unit developments.
- Least Squares: This subdiscipline involves statistical methods for estimating the goodness of fit in correlation analysis. The program also includes two co-ops, which provide students with valuable work experience and networking opportunities.
Teaching:
The program is taught by highly trained and experienced faculty members in the Department of Geospatial Informatics. Students receive individual attention and feedback in small classes. Common career paths include:

The program is approved by the Alabama Board of Licensure for Engineers and Land Surveyors, making graduates eligible to become licensed land surveyors in Alabama. The program also offers a 20-credit-hour minor in Surveying and Geomatics Sciences, which can be completed in person or online.
