Program Overview
Food Science and Technology Diploma Program
The Diploma in Food Science and Technology is a part-time course offered over two years. This program provides students with an understanding of food science, microbiology, food processing technology, nutrition, and food business, allowing them to upgrade their knowledge, skills, and competencies.

The course is structured into two years, with particular emphasis on linking basic principles with their practical application in the industry.

Course Practicalities
This course takes place on weekends, with seminars from October to May. There will be 10 Friday and Saturday sessions, with most lectures held online and some in-person workshops on campus.

The Irish food and drinks sector is one of Ireland's most important indigenous industries, identified as having a key role in Ireland's export-led economic recovery. This diploma is the only part-time Food Science and Technology program in Ireland.
Requirements
Applicants should:
- Hold an NFQ/FETAC Level 5 qualification or have appropriate experience/qualifications in a food-related area.
- Have at least two years of experience working in the field.
Fees and Costs
- The cost for Year 1 is 2,800.
- In Year 2, the cost will increase to 3,450.
- Taste 4 Success Skillnet funding of 35% may be available for member companies and other eligible participants.
