A graduate performance certificate is a great addition to any School of Music graduate program, allowing students with an undergraduate degree in music to focus on applied music study and performance activities.

For our talented graduate students who can successfully complete an approved performance-focused program that provides a minimum of eighteen semester hours of graduate study, we offer the opportunity to further your artistic abilities at the graduate level. Acquire additional credits and guidance from our outstanding professors in your area of interest.

Program Highlights

• Personal Attention: You'll receive a one-hour weekly lesson with an artist-teacher faculty member from the School of Music.
• Performance Experiences: You'll have the opportunity to perform two 50-minute degree recitals as part of your course of study.
• Open Doors: You are able to audition for the most elite of the School of Music's performance ensembles and join the fun.
• Supportive Community: Foster your creative learning, skill development and personal exploration through Spark: Music Leadership at Carolina.

What You’ll Study

The completion of the graduate performance certificate program requires successful completion of two public recitals on their primary instrument or voice. Music will be reflective of post-baccalaureate musicianship and will represent styles, genres and contexts deemed appropriate by the candidate’s recital committee.
