Program Overview

Cardiovascular Technology, B.S.

McCausland College of Arts and Sciences

Combine classroom learning and hands-on training with our close-knit cardiovascular technology program, which prepares you to be an active member of a heart health team through clinical experience.

Cardiovascular disease is the leading cause of death globally, and there is high demand for technologists who record images of the heart and blood vessels to assist in diagnosis and treatment. This four-year curriculum prepares students for employment after graduation, as well as opportunities for further study and career advancement.

Program Highlights

  • Hands-on Clinical Experience: Practice specialized skills with more than 600 hours of clinical experience in health care settings.
  • Guaranteed Job Placement: Get your career on track through a program with a 100 percent job placement rate for cardiovascular technologists.
  • Broad Curriculum: Prepare for leadership and the training of future cardiovascular technologists through the curriculum's wide scope of coursework.
  • Rigorous Science Curriculum: Set yourself up for success in graduate study opportunities here or at other health care-focused institutions.

What You’ll Study

Take a wide variety of courses in biology, chemistry, and health care management. Clinical courses and internships teach hands-on skills with cardiovascular imaging equipment. This program of study provides an alternate undergraduate route for pre-med and other pre-health students, and there is a strong sense of community within this major's smaller cohort.
