- Normally one of the following:
- An honors degree (2.2 or above) in a science or engineering subject.
- Suitable professional qualifications in an engineering field.
- A degree in any discipline containing aspects relevant to automation and control engineering, plus at least one year of appropriate industrial experience.
- A diploma in a technological area, with at least three years of relevant experience.
- International Students:
- India: A first-class BE in a relevant discipline, or a good second-class BE with a strong performance in mechanical and manufacturing subjects.
- China: A four-year Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline, with an overall average of at least 80 percent or equivalent.
- Other Countries: A good honors degree or equivalent in a relevant subject.
