Macquarie University offers two master's programs: the Master of Management and the Master of Media and Communications. The Master of Management prepares students for career advancement or industry transition, while the Master of Media and Communications equips aspiring and experienced media professionals with skills for the evolving media landscape. Degree Overview:

The Master of Management is designed for recent graduates and early career professionals. It provides deep experiential learning within contemporary business settings and opportunities to apply learning to real and current corporate challenges. The Master of Media and Communications is for aspiring or experienced media professionals. It equips students with the skills to respond to the challenges of the changing media landscape in ethical and socially engaged ways. The program focuses on digital production, distribution, audience communication and engagement strategies, online journalism, and media practices.


Careers:

The Master of Management helps students upskill or reskill to take the next career step in their current industry or move to a new one. The Master of Media and Communications prepares students for careers in fast-moving contemporary media and communications environments across the world.

Entry Requirements:

  • A-level: AAB (specific subject requirements).
  • The university does not require A-level Sociology or Politics for this course. However, in general, you should be in the process of studying social science, arts, and humanities subjects for A-level. See their accepted subjects document to see which subjects they accept.
  • GCSE: Grade 4/C or above in Mathematics.
  • Alternative qualifications:
  • Access to HE Diploma:
  • Complete 60 credits with 45 credits at level 3, including 30 credits at Distinction and 15 at Merit or higher.
  • BTEC: DDD
  • Cambridge Pre-U:
  • D3, D3, M2
  • International Baccalaureate:
  • 35 overall (6,5,5 higher)
  • Irish Leaving Certificate (higher Level):
  • H2,H2,H2,H2,H3,H3.
  • Scottish Highers / Advanced Highers: AB in Advanced Highers and AABBB in Highers or A in Advanced Higher and AABBB in Highers or AAAABB in Highers.
  • T-Levels: They will consider T-levels in appropriate subjects as they become available.
  • In all cases, applicants should have GCSE English at 4 or above.
  • Welsh Baccalaureate: Applicants offering the Welsh Baccalaureate Advanced Skills Challenge Certificate (SCC) must obtain a grade A alongside AA at A-Level (excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking).
  • Alternative entry:
  • Applicants must also meet the University’s GCSE matriculation standard and pass the Access to Leeds module.
  • Foundation year: For UK students who meet specific widening participation criteria.
  • International: They accept a range of international equivalent qualifications.

Language Proficiency Requirements:

  • IELTS: 6.5 overall, with no less than 6.0 in any component.
  • Other English qualifications: Read English language equivalent qualifications.
