This course introduces beginners to Blender 3D, a free open-source software for 3D asset creation. It covers basic techniques in creating, animating, and rendering 3D models, equipping participants with modern skills applicable in industries such as animation, architecture, and fashion. This course is designed for creatives who are new to digital asset creation or have limited knowledge of Blender. It aims to introduce basic techniques for 3D asset creation, animation, and rendering using Blender 3D, a powerful free open-source software. The course covers modern digital asset creation techniques applicable across creative industries like animation, architecture, product design, and fashion.
Outline:
The course is divided into three sessions:
- Session One:
- Introduction to digital language in Blender
- Why knowing your asset size is important
- Fundamentals of Import / Exporting assets
- Blender interface – modes, scenes, tabs, and modifiers
- Using transformation tools and traversing the workspace
- Working between Blender Modes – Object / Edit Mode / Sculpt
- Create 3D objects
- Walking through creating a 3D model in Blender.
- Session Two:
- Add-ons for Blender
- Modifiers, Manipulating and fixing
- Materials and Textures Nodes – Creating and applying digital textures
- Texture Painting – Creating your own effects
- UV Maps
- Session Three:
- Keyframes and Keysets – recording and marking movement
- Rendering – Setting up the camera, lighting, and movement.
- Final touches to your model and creating final outputs
Teaching:
- The course is taught in a creative studio culture that promotes discussion, collaboration, experimentation, and idea sharing.

Entry Requirements:
You should have experience of working in a creative environment, but no formal qualifications in design are required. Basic computer skills essential. You must be over the age of 18 to attend this course.
