Program Overview

This program in Postcolonial Studies allows students to critically examine the problematic histories of slavery, apartheid and colonialism through literature, film, music and other forms of cultural production, engaging with race, place and identity in different contexts. The program offers a wide range of optional modules, such as Africas of the Mind, Caribbean and Black British Writing and Planetary Aesthetics. Graduates have gone on to successful PhDs and careers in the cultural sector or with NGOs.
