Course Overview
This programme is designed for individuals currently working in operative, team leader, or supervisory management roles, as well as those aspiring to progress into such positions. It is also open to eligible unemployed applicants who meet the entry requirements.
The Certificate in Supervisory Management and Team Leadership equips learners with the technical, managerial, interpersonal, and leadership skills needed to succeed in supervisory and team leadership roles across diverse organisational settings.
Programme Overview
The primary objective of this programme is to provide participants with the opportunity to develop their interest and capabilities in management and leadership. Learners will enhance or develop new skills, gaining practical knowledge of business operations with a particular focus on leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving — ensuring they are well prepared for the evolving demands of the modern workplace.

Entry Requirements
- Mature applicants (i.e., over 23 years)
- Leaving Certificate Grade O6 at ordinary level in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate. Two of these subjects must be Mathematics and a language (English or Irish)
- QQI Level 5 – Full award with a minimum of eight modules
- Recognition of Prior Learning

Graduates of the Certificate in Supervisory Management and Team Leadership will be equipped with the practical knowledge and applied skills to lead teams effectively, support organisational goals, and contribute to a positive workplace culture.
They will be well positioned to take on or advance in roles such as:
- Team Leader
- Operations Supervisor
- Line Manager
- Project Coordinator
- Office or Department Supervisor
Whether entering the workforce, seeking promotion, or reskilling for a new career path, graduates will bring with them a confident understanding of supervisory practices, leadership principles, and the core skills needed to thrive in today’s changing work environments.
Graduates may also choose to pursue further study in business, leadership, or management, building on the foundational knowledge gained in this Level 6 programme.
Upon successful completion of this programme – Students can progress into the Higher Certificate in Business Year Two.

- Teaching Approach: Personal and supportive approach to teaching and learning
- Learning Methodology: Problem Based Learning (PBL) based approaches will be used to challenge and expand the students’ knowledge, skills and competence.
- Program Focus: Addresses four key areas deemed critical by the government: digital skills, transversal skills, management and leadership skills, and the workplace of the future.
- Funding: Springboard+ Funded Programme. Fully funded for eligible applicants.
- Target Audience: Individuals already working in an operative/team leader/supervisory manager role or aspiring to do so. Also suitable for unemployed persons meeting the entry requirements.

- Schedule: 2-3 evenings per week from 6pm to 9pm (online) plus selected Saturdays from 9am to 1pm (online).
