Residential Retrofit Site Coordination (Certificate L6, 20 ECTS)
Course Overview
The aim of the Certificate in Residential Retrofit Site Coordination programme is to up-skill building workers and crafts to develop knowledge and skills that allow them to deliver high-quality, energy-efficient carbon-neutral retrofits to existing residential buildings whilst complying with Ireland’s current Building Regulations.
Entry Requirements
- Leaving Certificate: A minimum of 5 Passes in Leaving Certificate subjects, including Mathematics and English/Irish.
- Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) – Assessment: Please review the entry requirements for this programme.
- English Language: Applicants who do not have English as their first language must ensure they satisfy English Language requirements.

Delivery
- Tuesday – 7pm to 9pm (fortnightly) plus 3 site visits per semester – (2 Semesters – 24 Weeks).
- The proposed delivery schedule is indicative and is subject to change.
Time Commitment
- Each 5 credits will normally equate to approximately 100 Total Learning Hours.
- Total Learning Hours includes the time you spend in class (lectures, tutorials, practical elements) and the time you spend completing work outside of college.
Assessment
- Assessment will be through a range of continuous assessments, which will involve:
- Case studies
- MCQs
- Presentations
- Practical Assessments
