Building Information Modelling with Revit Architecture (Certificate L6, 10 ECTS)
Course Overview
The programme will provide learners with a solid grounding in Building Information Modelling (BIM) using Autodesk’s Revit Architecture. This programme will encompass the basics of 3D building modelling & architectural visualisation. BIM functionality such as tables and building quantities will also be covered. This course will benefit existing AutoCAD users as well as those learning CAD for the first time.
Entry Requirements
- Minimum entry requirements are Grade OD3 or higher in five subjects in the Leaving Certificate.
- Applicants are also expected to have a basic knowledge of computers and computer applications.
- Knowledge of building design and construction is also desirable.
Recognised Prior Learning (RPL) – Assessment
Applicants who do not hold these qualifications but would like their application to be assessed under RPL should review the entry requirements for this programme.
HCI Pillar 3 Funding
Applicants must meet the eligibility criteria for the HCI Pillar 3 funding, as set out by the HEA.
English Language Requirement
Applicants who do not have English as their first language must ensure they satisfy English Language requirements. For entry to undergraduate courses, a score of 5.5 in an IELTS or equivalent exam is required. For postgraduate courses, a score of 6.0 in an IELTS or equivalent exam is required.

Delivery
- The course will run over a period of 10 weeks, with one 3 hour online lecture per week.
- The proposed delivery schedule is subject to change.
- This course will be delivered fully Online. Lectures are recorded and available for listen back.
Time Commitment
- Each 5 credits will normally equate to approximately 100 Total Learning Hours.
- Total Learning Hours includes the time you spend in class (lectures, tutorials, practical elements) and the time you spend completing work outside of college.
Assessment
- No Examinations.
- Two continuous assessment exercises and one project will be set during the programme.

- Certificate in Building Information Modelling with Revit Architecture (SPA, Level 6, 10 ECTS)
Fees
- €950* HCI Pillar 3 funded €760 – Student pays €190
