  • 6005HEAL, Infection Control for Healthcare:
  • This module covers the principles and policies of infection control, its application in professional practice, and recent advances in the field.

Assessment:

  • Students will be assessed via a 4,500-word learning agreement on a situational analysis (with action plan) for improving an infection control issue within their workplace.

Teaching:

  • The course consists of 8 full days of academic study at LJMU.

  • This Continuing Professional Development module can be studied within the BSc (Hons) Health and Social Care Development award framework or as a single CPD.

Admission Requirements

Entry Requirements:

This course is aimed at first level nurses, midwives or other professionally qualified staff, normally working in a local healthcare organisation. You should be:

  • employed in a position in which infection control is relevant to your day-to-day activities
  • have at least a Diploma in Higher Education in Nursing, a diploma in a profession allied to medicine or a diploma obtained as a part of post registration qualification
  • If you do not have a diploma, you will be considered individually on the basis of your experience and professional development
