Psychology, MA (CEHD)

Overview

The School Psychology program is committed to preparing graduate students to practice psychology in educational and clinical settings that serve children, adolescents, and their families. The program is approved by the National Association of School Psychologists (NASP). The Master of Arts in Psychology, concentration in School Psychology is earned en route to the EdS in School Psychology degree for those students who do not yet have a master's in school psychology. This MA concentration in School Psychology is not able to be earned as a standalone degree.

Admissions

Applicants to all graduate programs at George Mason University must meet the admission standards and application requirements for graduate study as specified in Graduate Admissions.

In addition, 15 credit hours of undergraduate or graduate psychology coursework are required (general psychology, statistics, research methods or experimental psychology, abnormal psychology, and developmental psychology).

With the approval of the academic program coordinator, division director, and CEHD Office of Student and Academic Affairs, a maximum of 17 credits may be transferred into the program from a previously-conferred graduate degree.
