Sport and Conflict Resolution Minor (CEHD)

Overview

This minor will help prepare students to work for organizations dedicated to using sports for development, community building, and peace. It provides students with a cross-section of courses in sport management and conflict resolution. Courses in sport management frame the sports industry in a philosophical, ethical, cultural, and business context. Conflict resolution courses will introduce students to foundational concepts in the study of human conflict, the analysis of conflict, and problem-solving techniques for helping to resolve conflict.

This is an interdisciplinary minor offered by the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter School for Peace and Conflict Resolution and the School of Sport, Recreation, and Tourism Management.

Admissions

This minor is available to all Mason undergraduate students.

Policies

Eight credits of coursework must be unique to the minor, and students must complete all coursework with a minimum GPA of 2.00. For policies governing all minors, see AP.5.3.4 Minors.
