Business Fundamentals Graduate Certificate

Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Business Fundamentals provides students with opportunities to gain broad business knowledge while offering choice in courses that best suit their career needs. Students will augment their skillsets from their own academic and professional disciplines with a fundamental understanding of effective business practices.

Concentrations

General Business Concentration (GEBU)

• Select four courses from the following:
  • GBUS 613: Financial Reporting and Decision Making
  • GBUS 623: Marketing Management
  • GBUS 638: Operations Management
  • GBUS 643: Managerial Finance
  • GBUS 653: Organizational Behavior
  • GBUS 662: Management of Information Technology and The Digital Enterprise
  • Total Credits: 12

Government Contract Management Concentration (GCMA)

• ACCT 621: GovCon Acquisition Regulations and Reporting (3 credits)
• ACCT 623: Project Accounting and Cost Management (3 credits)
• GBUS 623: Marketing Management (3 credits)
• MBA 729: Business Issues in Government Contracting (3 credits)
• Select one course from the following:
  • ACCT 624: GovCon Business Systems and Control
  • MBA 712: Project Management
  • MBA 723: Supply Chain Management
  • MBA 726: Negotiations
  • Total Credits: 15

Policies

• Students may use the credits completed as part of their graduate degree requirements in accordance with program requirements and AP.6 Graduate Policies.
• The time limit for completion is six years from the date of admission to the graduate certificate.
• Students must have a minimum GPA of 3.00 to complete the certificate.
• All students registering for Costello College of Business graduate courses must have graduate standing.
• Non-degree student status is not available.
• Graduate level courses offered by the Costello College of Business cannot be audited.

Certificate Requirements

• Total credits: 12-15
• This certificate may be pursued on a full-or part-time basis.
• Students must select one of the following concentrations: General Business or Government Contract Management.
