Program Overview

Colorado State University's Addictions Counseling concentration within Social Work trains students to become Certified Addiction Technicians (CATs) in Colorado. The program provides the necessary coursework and field placements in addiction treatment settings, equipping students with knowledge and skills in addiction theory, treatment approaches, and social work practice within the context of addiction. Students must maintain a 2.500 GPA in all SOWK courses and complete a field placement in an addiction treatment setting.
