Degree Overview:
This apprenticeship course has been designed for aspiring or newly appointed operations or departmental managers. An operations or departmental manager is someone who manages teams and/or projects. They support achievement of operational or departmental goals and objectives, as part of the delivery of the organisation’s strategy. They are accountable to a more senior manager or business owner. The program is based on the principles of action-centred leadership, first published by John Adair in 1973. This model identifies three core management responsibilities which are achieving the task, managing the team, and managing individuals. The professional manager apprenticeship has adapted this to focus on you as the individual and how you manage yourself. Once you understand yourself and what motivates you, then you can manage people in a team. This then allows you to achieve the task. You will complete the course by conducting a live project agreed between you and your line manager which allows you demonstrate a wide range of knowledge and skills. Assessment:
After successfully completing the Gateway for the Level 5 Professional Manager Apprenticeship, you will enter the End Point Assessment period. This module entails the unaided completion of a project proposal, which is a relevant and defined piece of work that has a real business benefit.
