Description:
The program is a full-time, 3-4 year program. Students will work at the heart of the University's internationally acknowledged and well-connected research community. The program offers a wide range of facilities, including:
- Ergometers and treadmills
- Gas analysers
- Force plates
- Isokinetic dynamometers
- Vicon motion capture system
- Electronic timing gates
- Full blood gas analysers
- EMG systems
- Non-invasive measurements of brain function (EEG, TMS, NIRS) Students can also pursue an MSc by Dissertation (MSD) or an MPhil in Health and Exercise Sciences. Both full- and part-time study can be supported, and students can start the program in January, April, or October.
Assessment:
The program is assessed through a dissertation, which is generally completed within three to four years and has a maximum length of 80,000 words. Students must attend two formal supervisory board meetings each year where they submit literature reviews and research reports. These documents are discussed with the student and their progress is assessed.
Careers:
Graduates of the program go on to a range of careers in research and development, sales, industry, and teaching in schools and colleges.
