Program Overview

This module has been designed to provide registered nurses with the fundamental skills required to care for patients in the General Practice setting in primary care. The module focuses on the assessment and monitoring of patient with long term conditions and the acquisition of specific clinical skills. It takes into account the legal, ethical and cultural issues surrounding the patients’ experiences of primary care. In addition to acquiring clinical skills, students will have the opportunity to reflect on current issues in contemporary nursing and health care practice.
