Program Overview
The Advanced Clinical Practice Development Portfolio module (HS768) helps students develop their portfolio as Advanced Clinical Practitioners through reflective learning and drawing upon previous learning experiences. The module is led by Vikki-Jo Scott, a former Dean of the School of Health and Social Care, and involves tripartite meetings with academic and workplace supervisors. Assessment includes formative and summative components, and the target audience is students undertaking the MSc Advanced Clinical Practice in the School of Health & Social Care.

- Based in: Health and Social Care It requires reflection on learning and draws upon learning and development activity undertaken during the Masters programme, as well as utilizing activity such as re-validation with a relevant regulatory body.
- Objectives:
- Demonstrate an advanced understanding of the area of study.
- Engage in reflection and critical evaluation of own learning, development, and progress as an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
- Negotiate and agree an appropriate learning development plan, to include identified activities to address deficits where needed.
- Be able to present a coherent portfolio of evidence that meets with the local and national expectations of an Advanced Clinical Practitioner.
- Accreditation and Professional Recognition: Some students may be aligning their studies to specific frameworks (e.g. Royal College of Emergency Medicine). research skills) may contribute to these other standards, but will not be directly assessed within this module. This session will introduce the module and assignment requirements. Following this, students are expected to arrange regular meetings with their academic and workplace supervisor throughout the module (at least one tripartite meeting per month, and individual sessions as needed).
Assessment:
- Formative: At each tripartite meeting, students are required to provide a copy of their work on the portfolio one calendar week prior to the meeting. This allows supervisors to review and provide feedback during the meeting.
- Summative: Students are required to submit a copy of the ACP Portfolio and any associated supportive evidence using the provided template. Submission is expected via FASER. The deadline for feedback is 20 working days.

- Teaching Methods: The module is based on tripartite and 1-1 meetings with academic and workplace supervisors. These sessions involve reviewing progress, discussing and identifying relevant evidence for the portfolio, and making plans for further learning/activity.
