Careers

Employability is embedded across all of our teaching. Our Genetics degree will provide you with plenty of hands-on lab work, and thus the skills to take up a professional career in genetics within healthcare, industry or universities. Potential opportunities include clinical genetics, biomedical genetics, biotechnology, forensic research, genetic counselling, conservation genetics and plant breeding.

Teaching & Learning

The taught component of the Genetics with integrated year in industry degree is identical to the standard three-year BSc Genetics degree (C400). The year in industry is taken in your third year in the UK or overseas, is supervised and assessed, and will count towards your degree grade.

Typical Entry Requirements

  • UCAS Tariff: 120 - 104
  • A Levels: BBB-BCC with B in Biology or Human Biology
  • GCSE requirements (minimum grade C/4): English or Welsh, Mathematics and a Science subject

English Language Requirements
