  • You will typically need an upper second-class honours degree or an international equivalent in Biological Sciences, Health Science, or Medicine (including Veterinary and Dental Qualifications).
  • If you are currently completing a degree, we understand that your final grade may be higher than the interim grades or module/unit grades you have achieved during your studies to date.
  • We will consider your application if your interim grades are currently slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements and may make you an aspirational offer.
  • We will also consider your application if your final overall achieved grade is slightly lower than the programme's entry requirement.
  • If you have at least one of the following, please include your CV (curriculum vitae / résumé) when you apply, showing details of your relevant qualifications:
    • Evidence of relevant work experience such as a biomedical/clinical scientist, working in cell biology labs, biotechnology or pharmaceutical industry, professional experience in research and development or professional experience in clinical trials.
    • A relevant postgraduate qualification in Biological Sciences, Health Science, or Medicine (including Veterinary and Dental Qualifications).

An upper second-class honours degree or international equivalent in Sciences including Biochemistry, Chemistry, Biology, Biotechnology, Cell Biology, Physiology, Immunology, Biomedical Sciences, Microbiology, Developmental Biology, Neuroscience, Pharmacology, Health Sciences, Medicine (including Medical, Veterinary and Dental qualifications). For applicants who are currently completing a degree, we understand that their final grade may be higher than the interim grades or module/unit grades they achieve during their studies. We will consider applicants whose interim grades are currently slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements. We may make these applicants an aspirational offer. Specific module requirements may still apply. We will consider applicants whose grades are slightly lower than the programme's entry requirements, if they have at least one of the following: evidence of a minimum of three months work experience in Professional experience in research and development and biomedical / clinical Scientists - working in cell biology labs, biotechnology or pharmcueticals. Professional experience in research and development and professional experience in clinical trials also considered. a relevant postgraduate qualification. If this is the case, applicants should include their CV (curriculum vitae / résumé) when they apply, showing details of their relevant work experience and/or qualifications. Students on this programme usually undertake a literature review or similar for their dissertation, but it is possible for students to complete an optional lab-based project. Bench fees apply only to students who come to Bristol for 6-8 weeks to complete research project unit CSSBM2001. This must be arranged in consultation with a supervisor and project unit lead, we cannot guarantee that students will be able to take on an optional lab-based project.
