Overview
This exciting course is aimed at those currently working in a suitable audiology department and currently registered with AHCS/RCCP or HCPC.
This module is based on the requirements for learning outlined in the Higher Training Scheme (British Academy of Audiology) and develops skills around audiological assessment of newborn babies requiring objective testing and peer review of cases, including those referred from the newborn hearing screen as well those exempt from the newborn screen (e.g., babies with a diagnosis of microtia / external ear atresia, bacterial meningitis / meningococcal septicaemia or confirmed congenital cytomegalovirus (cCMV) that do not present with likely complicating factors).
How is the course taught?
You'll complete weekly, self-paced online learning tasks alongside work-based learning and reflection, supplemented by a block residential on campus. You'll be encouraged to develop an understanding of your own professional capabilities and limitations, and consider the critical importance of continuing professional development for audiologists working in paediatrics.
