Overview
This Experience Day at Writtle College is designed to give you an overview, with practical experience, of two of the many welding processes used today: Manual Metal Arc and Metal Inert Gas. You'll get an insight into their varied uses, which range from DIY, to art and commercial theatre. Topics covered will include:
- health and safety
- equipment recognition and function
- Manual Metal Arc (stick) 3mm plate
- Metal Inert Gas (MIG) 1mm to 3mm

Our Welding Experience Day is open to all. No previous experience is necessary.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this Experience Day, but you're required to bring your own personal protective equipment (PPE). As we're governed by Health and Safety Executive (HSE) regulations, you will not be allowed to start the course without wearing non-nylon flame retardant coveralls and safety boots with steel toe caps.
