Program Overview


Welding Arc (Stick) and MIG

Overview

This practical course takes place over five weeks (one evening per week). It will suit you if you're already in employment and wish to further your education/abilities in welding.


Full Description

This course covers various topics, including:


  • methods and techniques used to achieve high standards
  • functions of controls and settings
  • AC/DC power supply and their application
  • electrode types and selection
  • filler wire types and application
  • types and availability of shielding gases
  • weld fault investigation and rectification
  • health and safety

The course fee includes all materials, though please note you'll need to wear your own PPE (see the 'Entry requirements' section for details). The instructor/student ratio is 1:8.


You'll receive a Certificate of Attendance when you complete the course.

Entry Requirements

Our Arc (Stick) and MIG course is ideal if you have previous welding knowledge.


We're governed by Health and Safety Executive regulations, and you're required to bring your own personal protective equipment (PPE). You won't be able to start the course without wearing non-nylon flame retardant coveralls and safety boots with steel toe caps.
