Tractor Driving Experience Day

Overview

Have fun driving a range of tractors on Writtle College's countryside campus. Our Experience Day is the perfect gift for birthdays, Christmas and other special occasions.

Full Description

Have you ever dreamt of driving a tractor? Now’s your chance!

Join us at Writtle College, and find out what it's like to work the land with these fascinating machines. Enjoy the experience of controlling the power of our tractors first hand.

After a 30-minute presentation you'll spend the remainder of the day driving several different tractors, using a variety of implements and learning their many capabilities. The instructor/student ratio is 1:4, and you can expect to learn about

  • the evolution of the tractor
  • trailer hitching, driving and reversing
  • hitching an implement
  • seasonal field operations using various implements eg, ploughing, sub soiling, rolling etc
  • introduction to health and safety

Book early to avoid disappointment as each Experience Day is limited to four people. For an additional £10 spectators are welcome to come along and see you enjoy the day.

Free parking is available on campus in Writtle: we'll issue a permit to you and ask that it's clearly displayed in your vehicle. Tea and coffee-making facilities are available; please bring a packed lunch and any other refreshments.

Who Should Attend?

Our Tractor Driving Experience Day is open to all (minimum age 16). No previous experience is necessary.
